 Dragon
Dragon1.rar
Image$ 45.00

  • Textured
  • Jointed
  • not a MAX model

This one is rather cute, but its low poly and the texture may look a little bad uppon closer inspection.
The worst thing is that its a Maya model, and converting models from Maya to Max is not a laughing matter.

Draco
Image$ 350.00

  • Very Detailed
  • not Textured
  • not Jointed

This model may be well done (and who knows what sources it came from) but it is missing a lot.
Without textures it will look plain and creating the textures for such a complicated mesh will propably kill me.
Also since this basically IS Draco from the movie there may be unforeseen consequences when using this in the way we'd like.

This one looks rather bulky, while this can be good I don't like this particular kind of bulky.
The face is a mess, and its pretty much the only reason I haven't bought this yet, although I am pretty sure the scales on the texture will turn out to be just another noise map on closer inspection.
But then again movies like Dungeons & Dragons got away with such things before by moving their dragons arround like hyperactive little boys, so I guess I can get something out of this as well.
I will be able to joint this model myself, but it will take time, and since there is no picture of the mesh topology, I can't say how much of a pain it will be.
Sadly this also means I dont know if the sadle can be removed.. but hey, at least I get a free human with it.
And while I despise the idea of human riding on anything, it can be a great deal of fun to see them fall... and crash to the ground.. and then accidentally get sat on.. (`xxvxxvxxยด) ..but I digress.
This model is a good deal even if I won't be able to animate it.

Dragon
Image $ 60.00

  • cute face
  • not Textured
  • not Jointed
  • not Finished

I really like the face on this one, it would still be a lot of work to complete this one, so it's not my first choice.
It is still the cutest model I've seen so far and I am going to keep an eye on it.

All in all I still would like to create my own Dragon model one day (when time and dreams collide),
but until then I can as well just buy one for use.. or missuse.

Some dragons might be good as well. Too bad that Draco was not textured. It might be hard to create a map for all of that.

I wouldn't care, if the Draco-Model was textured, or not, but it is a shame, that it costs so much.

I thnk (for the draco model) the biggest factor is if u r willing to pay that much for it.. maybe they have a newer model of it or others that might be interesting..(?) also another factor is if it will fit in with ur style of animations and scripts.

Yes... I have especially looked out for snake models.. but I don't like any of them.. the only good one was a Cobra.. and I would really enjoy something more... constrictive.
