I have played the game Singularity now, when I saw the Trailers back then I immediately had it on PreOrder. But then I read some bad reviews and I decided to cancel that order.

Now I got a it a little late, and played it through these past days. And I don't see what the reviewers problems where. I think it's awesome.
The amount of detail they put in there is just nice, there are Areas you might not even visit and they put stuff there like a dried out dead body with a phase tick crawling out of its eyesocket the moment you look at it. And the detail on those corpses is just creepy.. never have I been so grossed out by a virtual dead body.

And then there are those scenes where you see some huge claw piercing through the walls.
At that moment I already thought.. oh I am gonna love THAT bossfight, and I did. (^vxxv^)

The moment he presented himself was quite lovely (^vxxv^)

"Oh you are a cute one aren't you?"

And then after a little fighting he suddenly turned around.

Ohhh.. you have a Tail.. you just got a lot more sexy.. WAIT A MINUTE!!

Let me just stop the game and walk behind you real quick.

Is that what I think it is? You gotta be kidding me.

Bingo, we've got a Pucker.

And a big one at that.

Isn't he just the cutest? (^vxxv^)
And it doesn't help that is standard attack at this moment is a constant back and forth motion.

I find it awesome that they bothered to put that in there.

myself in a game called "Sleep is Death".. I made a Journal entry about
it here:
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2002606/

It's a game where you can make the entire game content yourself.
Basically its a 2 Player game.. and one player is the Gamemaster or
Storyteller.
Now once I found out there is a way to import graphics into the game I
was on the case. I rendered out some isometric views of some of my
scenes and put them into the game. Basically everything you see here was
made by me... except for the Guy and the Cages.

I admit the scene makes no sense, but the prospect of being able to let a player interact and evolve a story is just amazing.

The game comes with some simple retro graphics and objects inside and
there are some packages to download to extend the library. So if you
have even the smallest talent at pixel drawing you might be able to tell
awesome stories to friends.

Just a little something I am working on from time to time. I figured
after my animatronic modification of the T-Rex toy I could try something
bigger. So I was planning on making a papercraft model with a basic
animatronic rigg inside. This is a picture from the concept phase, where
I am just trying to see how many degrees of motion I need and where I
need to place them.
Using the same LipSynch animation I used for the toy I found that a tongue almost makes up for lips that cannot move.
I am not sure if this picture has the same effect on you, maybe it only
works in the context of the animation but the way the upper part of his
tongue is raised gave me shivers. I wanted to share that feeling.

Now I just gotta start the actual design phase.

By doing this, I managed to turn this:

into this:

I really loved how the nose turned out. I had a little error in the formula so the snout turned out a little longer than in the original, but I might just keep it this way. Doing the scales was a lot easier than I had feared, and even though I need some more variety for the next design I am pretty happy with them.
Anyway.. by adding some coloring, applying some filters to the scales and doing some fancy highlight rendering in my 3d program I managed to turn it into this:

It's not my best work in the sector of Image manipulation but the original image really helps the experience in my eyes. Now that DracoVar has allowed me to show this, I am glad to upload it here.
Taking images into my 3d Program and then animating them in interesting ways has certainly caught my interest over the last few years, there are always images that catch my interest in such a way that I just need them animated. But with most of them I haven't come around to asking the original Artist for permission for using/showing them and I won't upload until that is done. With some of them though, I am pretty sure I will never get permission because sometimes these edits turn out to make the image quite a bit more nasty.

To solve the problem with the shot leg servo I replaced the electronics of the servo with that of another one and successfully installed a ball bearing in each leg.

They now work as well as can be expected given the servos low power and resolution, but its better than not moving at all. Still, I feel like I have shifted the role of the "worst working part" to the arms, as they still shudder around quite a bit as they move. So I tried to calm them down a bit by putting some pauses for them into the animation. The result however does not look much better as they now appear to be moving too little.

Overall however I am very happy with having achieved motor function in this nice toy and I am looking forward to be working very closely with him.. in private.
In general this experience has teached me that it is just not economical for me to use Servos in large scale models, at least not in major leverage situations like neck, arms and legs. I may just have to start working with pneumatics or rather a cable pull system with step motors. High Power servos of the Tier I would need go well into the 3 digits and the amperage needed just to hold a paper head up is almost creepy.

I have put the T-Rex Toy back together and tested out function of the servos. They are moving as expected, but unfortunately the friction in the leg-joints is causing the whole legs to move erratically.
It was either the friction or a protocol error during testing, but one of the leg servos blew. So next step would be to completely cut out the legs and replace the plastic on plastic friction joint with a ball bearing. I didn't want to do this unless its necessary and apparently I have no choice, I will need to replace the servo anyway so I might as well.
The jaw movement is promising, I took an animation I was planning to use on a bigger jaw and tried it out with this one.. the leg movement helped give the whole model live until one of them died, but its still nice to see some movement at all. It was however rather frustrating trying to get the serial protocol timing to sync up with the sound, apparently I will need to find or program a tool that will allow me to send out telegrams with an exact timing.
So anyway here is a picture and video of what he looks like when singing.
